Yaris Recall

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has more news on the recent Yaris recalls? I have a 2007 and contacted the dealer and they told me that Toyota will contact me if there are any issues with my particular vehicle. The recall has to do with sort of an insulation that could ignite in the event of a collision and is activated by seat belt pre-tensioner.

This is what I read, but I have heard from others that there is something wrong with the exhaust as well. If anyone has anymore info or heard from Toyota please post your info.

Toyota will send you A letter.. It would be just a little more considerate for at least the dealerships to know whats going on, I googled my Heart out trying to find out what is going on, only a defect with seatbelts.. that can cause post crash ignition.. a little too scary for my liking.. I'm not driving anywhere but to the dealership to get my yaris fixed.

If you click on the "recall notice" (in blue print 2nd paragraph) on the info page, it will bring up VIN numbers affected.

its only seat belt issue in aust the exhaust issue effects over seas modles

I have a recall affected Yaris (seat belt pre-tensioner).

I never got a recall letter so when I had reason to call in for a small tweak the other day I asked what was happening. Told them I was affected and they fixed the seat belt pre-tensioner business while they had the car in the workshop. The car popped up on their computer as one affected so they do have a record of which cars are needing the work done.

If anyone is worried you could always pre-empt Toyota by pointedly booking your car in for the update, there shouldn't be any cost to have the update done I reckon rather than wait for a letter which could take ages to arrive, or so said the service bloke I spoke with said.

There is a recalls web site you could have found that is run by the Australian government.... didn't really have to look too far. <_<
