i just bought a 84 corrola with a 1598cc 2t motor and would like to start building it up. i bought a pair of 45 throttle bodies but have no clue about what cam to put in please help. what other modifications are there that i can do to this motor. :help::help:

I live in south africa thats the problem. i cant seem to find much on the motor and its abilities so my friend advised i try this forum. can you help?

Sure. It all depends how much money you have. Honestly, I'd be looking at picking up another 2T to work on and keeping the other engine in your car, it will minimise the time your car is off the road. If you don't need it on the road all the time, then this isn't really a problem.

What sort of budget do you have and what mechanical knowledge do you have? It's not impossible to rebuild an engine with no experience (providing you have the tools that is), it just requires more time and expecting something to go wrong.

I know of a 2/3T turbocharged hybrid pushing 320rwhp in a TA22 Celica, is currently running 11's. These motors have plenty of potential, even if you don't want to go forced induction.
