Hi, im new to these forums.

I want to install a pod filter into my 1990 corolla hatch. But im having troubles, there are different sizes and types ect. has anyone previously done this, or anyone know to help me? also i hear you need cool air to make it perform better, this true? Installations gonna be a prick but i will have a go :P

Thanks in advance,

Yes, the colder the air is, the better performance you get...

A good alternative is to install a K&N Panel filter into your standard airbox and run some piping from the airbox down to the front bumper bar...

Defect free and a good upgrade...

ok so i realise its going to be a prick of a job to do, so.. putting this K&N panel filter, will increase the performance of my car? cause i will do this if it does.

Cheers again

The performance increase will not really be noticeable when driving the car but the engine will breathe a lot better and thus better performance for your engine...

A panel filter is certainly better than a pod filter in my opinion...

that is correct if you dont wanna do much DIY'in, but if u like to DIY then i dont see wants wrong wif making your own CAI just need to plan things out. :) got my heat sucking pod(40 - 50 degrees) to run 29 - 34 degrees after i built a CAI for it :)

i used to have a 91 csi and i ended up buying some flexible tube and ran it down into the bumper and out a pod filter down there.

unlike the sportivo's, their is no battery getting in the way so you can make it pretty straight.

OR you can cut into your airbox and put the pod in their.

OR just pull out your airbox and have the pod sitting in the hot engine bay.

on a 4afe it wouldn't really increase or decrease the performance at all or moreso would not be noticable, as i have tried all 3.

if you just want the noise of the pod go step 3 but if you want some kind of better breathing for you engine take rolla boys advice.

head over to the technical section of sydneyrollaclub.com and their plenty of people have made cai and out pods in ae92 or ae93 corolla's
