Hello

My wife and I are the proud owners of a RAV4 CV L.

I came across this Forum whilst looking for some answers in regard to the RAC CV6.

We currently tow a Jayco Dove (890 Kg), but are moving up to a Paramount Duet (1680Kg) so we are considering if the CV6 will do the job, as well as being our daily run about.Comments from CV6 owners are most welcome.

Regards

Bill

Hi Bill,

Welcome to the forum. I have a new cv6. I got the Toyota tow package option when I bought the vehicle. Apparently the genuine towbar attachment struts also reinforce the rear of the rav so that it does not twist or bend under the force of the towed weight. According to the spec sheet the cv6 is good for 1900kg. I've only towed my 300kg trailer so far so cannot comment on your 1680kg load, except that my rav blew off everything at the lights, even with the trailer hooked on, so as far as power to pull a big load I'd say it should be OK provided you keep it in 4th gear whilst towing, as it suggests in the handbook. As far as a daily drive, it is very good on fuel consumption, has an excellent transmission and a very powerful engine. All in all a lot of fun to drive - a 4wd sports car!

Regards, Bruce
