I am Having problems with my 99 Camry drivers door lock where it will not open with the remote. All the other doors open by the remote. The Key works fine and opens all doors when used..

All funtions on the door buttons also work. What is likely to be the problem. Is it likely to be wiring or the door actuator

Highly likely it would be the drivers door actuator itself. When you lock/unlock with the remote with your ear up to the drivers door, do you hear any sound, like the actuator trying to push the lock. If so, it could be that it is jammed on something or it is not pushing the lock properly. Otherwise, it probably would be stuffed and a replacement needed.

If you want to check it yourself, you can take the door trim off and if you find the wires for the actuator, you can try applying +12v to it to see if it does anything.

Finally pulled the door trim off and tested the actuator and worked fine. Put it back together and worked fine. Will see how long it last but been good for the last 3 months. Thanks Aussie
