Just wondering whether to out and buy vented disc rotors for my 95 celica as my pads wear out pretty quickly

My car has average quality brake pads and stock rotors. Would getting vented rotors reduce pad wear? Or would I be better off just using high grade pads and not bother changing rotors?

I haven't taken out my pads yet to take a closer look because I only bought the car about a month ago and havn't had time to.

Can anyone give me advice on this?

When im in a rush im usually a heavy braker to and from work or tafe.

You should have front ventillated discs as stock (fairly sure they are standard on everything after like 1985), not sure about the rear but probably solid discs. No, IMO you should not worry about putting ventillated discs on the rear since 1) there may be clearance issues, 2) ~70% of the braking is done by the front, so they won't make a difference (unless you intend to get out on the track seriously, then you might consider it).

Depends on what you mean by "high quality pads". Some people associate that with low dust, or low noise, or track performance and so on. If it is just for the street something like Endless SSS pads will be fine.

As for vented rotors, do you mean slotted or cross drilled? If that is what you mean then you will wear your pads out faster, not to mention you need to inspect your rotors often to ensure they aren't cracking.
