is it neccesary to remove the battery?

i dont know the code for my cd player and i dont want to pay 60$ to get one either....

any tips for getting under that area? haha

No you don't have to remove the battery. Go to the workshop section and find BKS' guide. It shows you how to do it.

my twm ones came with a manual. but id rather not take it out.

ill check his again. thanks!

The TWM guide for the cable shifters is actually for a zzt231 Celica as they have the battery over the top of the shifter cables.
