I was perusing the parts database for my car (JDM Runx) and I realised that the hub and bearing comes as an assembly for the rear of these vehicles which means that in the event that a rear bearing goes you have to not only buy the bearing but the hub as well.

I was wondering if anyone here either had reason to change their rear bearings or inspect them, and if so, what is the part number on the bearing. I think this information will be useful in preventing the owners of these cars from having to purchase the hub unnecessarily.

A rear hub bearing on a FWD isn't uncommon. The Aurion is exactly the same. Makes it a bit more costly, especially when you have an ABS speed sensor built into it, but it simplifies things.

There is no way you can separate the bearing from the hub. It will look something like the attached photo (this is for my Aurion, but same construction really).

For the Australian ZZE123 Corolla Sportivo both Australian and SA built the part numbers are as follows:

42450A, 42450-02100 - HUB & BEARING ASSY, REAR AXLE, RH

42450B, 42450-02100 - HUB & BEARING ASSY, REAR AXLE, LH
