Dealer sticker on windscreen

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

This is my first post on this forum.

I picked up a new 2009 Toyota Corolla Ascent Sedan on Saturday (30th of Jan 2010) from Terry Shields in Parramatta and I LOVE the car! However, the dealer left one of their stickers on the windscreen which I am having a lot of problems removing. I have searched online and have tried vinegar, nail polish remover together with my old work ID card to scrape it off. So far I have removed 40% but it proving to be a real pain. Are there any tips on removing this? I am going to use a blow dryer on the weekend to see if this will do the trick.

When I purchased the car, I opted for body paint protection (Six Star Solutions) but I feel compelled to wax the car , what products do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Navman

Welcome to TOCAU :)

You have the right idea with the blowdrier, but if it isn't powerful enough try a heat gun. Be a little careful around painted surfaces and plastic trims with it though. There isn't much in the way of solvents that can get rid of stickers.

Welcome to the forums mate.

To remove stickers on windows i use a blade. Ones like on stanley knives and such work well.

As for wax, I use all meguiars products. So chamois, clay kit, scratch x, polish and tech wax 2.0 :)

Thanks for the help guys. I've armed myself with some eucalyptus oil, a blow dryer and my ID card, that sticker is going down on Sunday!!

I'll lay off polishing the car for a few months but I'll probably wash it every week.

Enclosed is a pic of my new car (sorry I can't help myself :whistling: ) and the offending sticker!
