78 Series - 2005 - is it ODB11 Compliant

Hi

I don't currently have any problem with my Motor or ECU but have tried to read the ECU with two different OBD11 Readers in both cases the devices came back with a protocol error or simply could not read the ECU!

I also tested my Daughters Toyota Starlet with one of the tools and it gave a similar error!

The question is why!

I have been chasing the subject up but have not found a solution yet.

From what I can see there are several different protocols in use, trust the Automotive industry to yet again make nothing standard!

But it also seems the Pin put of the plug may differ, I guess the question is then what Protocol is Toyota using and what pins are what?

It seems the Power pins are correct as the most recent unit I have purchased tells me the correct Battery voltage but still fails to talk to the ECU.
