My Sportivo is about due for a service now and I was thinking of getting them to adjust the clutch.I have heard that if it takes a lot of force to change gears at high rpm then letting the clutch out a bit can fix it.

I dont think its a gearbox fluid issue as the temperature doesnt seem to effect it.

can the clutch be adjusted without having to detach the gearbox?

clutch can'y technically be adjusted. the adjustment is made in the foot well of the car to the 'pushrod' connected to the top of the clutch pedal. so no the gearbox does not have to be removed.
