Hi all

Ultra tune has given me a price of $450 which is for DBA Front Slotted Rotors fitted to the Sportivo.

Wanted to know if other people have got this done and how does the price compare.

(Note the price is for Supply and Fit DBA Slotted Rotors)

If someone may ask ,the reason for the upgrade/replacement : My current Rotors have done 140xxx km and there is a mark on one side(left).I was thinking of replacement rather than to get it machined.

i picked up a full set of DBA rotors for an EVO 8 about a year ago for $390 so that seems very steep just for fronts in a reasonably small size!

The distance travelled is irrelevant, the thickness of the rotor is the important bit of information. The un-slotted rotors I assume are a cheaper price and there is nothing wrong with using them; for performance, pad selection is more important than rotor selection.

Hey Rolla,

My Sportivo brake upgrade consists of DBA slotted rotors front and rear, Hawk Performance pads and AP Racing fluid. My front rotors were $160 each, not including fitting (the rears were $133). Hope this helps, or at least gives you an idea of pricing. Was I ripped? Well, who really knows. I certainly don't care! Brakes are on, and I am a happy camper!

I believe for DBA, the only rotors you can get from DBA are the 'Street Series'. I don't think the 4000 Series are available, but you should enquire to double check what you are getting.

Personally, I think $450 is a little bit more than what you should pay for Street Series rotors plus fitting. You should consider changing them yourself to save some coin. It's not a hard process to complete.

      1zz-fe engine rebuild

      Hello all, Working on my 2002 corolla. It needs a engine rebuild due to burning oil out the back. It has over 400,000 km on it and I havent looked after it. Everything is still original on the motor. The only thing that I have replaced, was the brushes on the alternator. They were completely worn out. I am pulling the motor/gearbox out of the car. Wont know the condition of the block or head until I strip it down. I know the design of the piston where changed in the 2003+ models for more oil holes, which stopped the buring of oil. 1. Was there any other changes made ? 2. Does anyone know of where I can get a engine rebuild kit for 1zz-fe motor in australia ? 3. I have only found one place that I can get a new short motor built but that is in the USA and they do ship to australia but was hoping to find something in australia Thanks for help. Dragon

      2007 Corolla Sedan rear seatbelt question

      Hi everyone, new member here. I've got a small problem which I'm hoping you can help me sort out. I've read the "read me first" thread and done a forum search so apologies if this ends up being a repost. Ok, so I've just has a bloody mouse chew through the rear seat and half (but only half) of every rear seatbelt. Which is nice. So I need to replace them. The problem I appear to have is that none of the local breakers have any suitable vehicles that I can pull them from and the ones I ordered and was sent from the bay of fleas has the wrong brackets on, despite being allegedly for that vehicle. Further searches come up with every seller showing the wrong bracket, so either I've got a special car which is different just because, or (more likely) they don't know their ****s from their elbows what they're selling. I'm after some aftermarket ones as they never get used and just need to be there to get through rego so don't really want to spend a heap of cash I don't have on genuine parts if I can avoid it. I've replaced the centre one (a mate just randomly had it in a box in his shed, which was handy) but still need the left and right. I've attached the bracket type I pulled from the car and need. Is this a standard generic Toyota seatbelt or specific to the 2007 Corolla sedan? Does is need to be specifically for the rear left and right or do front ones fit? Does anyone know where I can source an aftermarket pair? I will really, really appreciate any help offered with this, I know my way around a box of tools but very little about mechanikicing (which is part of the reason why I bought this car - something simple to learn on as repairs/replacements become due) and this is a simple fix which is turning into a drawn out headache.       Hi all, Wondering if anyone has had this issue. I recently purchased a 2007 200 series landcruiser, and the amplifier for the air con unit stopped working. Part number 88650-60D60. (Looks like a circuit board) All controls for the air con now do not work, very frustrating in winter when you dont have any way to unfog your windscreen. Toyota have informed me that they no longer produce this part, and there is nothing superseeded to fit in it's place. My question is has anyone had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it? I have got onto an auto sparky who has had a go at fixing the circuit board but its unserviceable. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

      Engine oil dipstick reading

      Hi guys, Probably a silly question... I'm having trouble reading my engine oil dipstick on my Toyota Hilux 2010 3.0 Turbo Diesel. I have warmed up the engine, turned off for ~10 minutes, parked on a level surface. Pulled out the dipstick, wipe it and insert it back to the bottom and carefully lift it up. I tried so many times and the two sides always look different. I couldn't read it. Maybe I just don't understand how to read it. Could someone help? Thanks a lot!!!

      Landcruiser 13B Engine Swap

      Hi I’m not shore how you went with this project but on a whim how did you go and do you still have the old 13b engine as I have this car and the engine failed looking for options cheers
