Nice idea and looks cool... But why not to just buy some waterproof SMD strip and stick it there by yourself...?

Yes you could do that, but ive yet to see a chrome backed SMD strip. This cover has a proper chrome housing and clear cover. Not just a stick on. Its much neater that just sticking on a strip.

Saw a nissan pulsar last nite, with a strip of LEDs under his headlights and was using them as his headlights. Those two strips and his foggies, im guessing they were 6000k hids, pretty bright. Is that legal though? Using the strips of LEDs at night instead of your headlights? :huh:

I wouldt think that was legal, nor practical. SMD or LED strips are mainly for safety and good looks. HID's in foggies as we know are problematic for most installations. Generally these SMD/LED strips are used for daytime running...
