Hey all,

OK so I was taking apart the centre console last week and I didn't realise that the pocket above the ashtray had something in there to keep the tension on the lid. It now falls open all the time and the gf is annoyed at me for wrecking it.

I've seen previous threads mention a spring or elastic, but I couldn't find them when I took a look. Does anyone have a close up picture of what they look like, or how they attach to the pocket?

Thanks!

If you have a look at the sides where the pocket clicks onto the 2 prongs that stick out on either side , just behind it there should be a spring that attaches to the door/flap and the other side onto the rear of of the console.

In my car , 1 of the sides is broken hence the flap doesnt close and the spring cant be attached to it. I have mine stuck down on a permanent basis.

See attached pic of the 2 side progs (Courtesy of Guni's post in B&S)

Thanks for your help - I've been working on my car in an underground garage with poor light, might have to wait until the weekend so I can find a better lit spot to take a look around.

FYI, managed to find a parts diagram and number for the spring, so I might try contacting spare parts and seeing if I can get one. It's the shared with the Yaris too.
