Tyres on a 2003 Camry Sportivo

Hi Guys, I was planning on replacing 4 tyres on my car and realised that the original 205/60 r16 is quite rare and a premium is paid for that...has anyone tried the 215/60 r16 tyre on their sportivo and if so is it possible?

Cheers

215's are fatter than the 205, so your tyre will bulge out slightly.

apart from that, the rolling diamater on the 215's is greater than the 205's. so although you could still fit them on the standard rims with no problems, your speedo would be out and the boys in blue could have fun with compliance depending on which state youre in

thanks for the reply...looks like it's back to the 205! thought i could get away with the 215 cuz it was cheaper

Going from 205/60R16 to 215/60R16 will only increase your speedo by 1.8%. Assuming your speedo reading is higher than it should be there is no problem but i'm not guarantying anything. If you have a GPS check your speed at 60km/h and 100km/h then work out the difference in % from the speedo reading and GPS reading. If it's more than 2% then you shouldn't have a problem going up to 215/60R16 tyres but if less i wouldn't recommend it.
