200 series V8 TD fuel consumption

Hi all out there.

I am looking to buy a 2007/08/09 200 series V8 TD and was wondering if anyone is towing a 3 tonne caravan with one and what sort of economy they are getting both with and without the van.

yes i tow 3t and over average 17 to 18 l/100k on highway 110kph

no van i can get down to 7.8l /100k on highway using cruise control driving myself 8 to 9 l/100k

around town 11 to 12 l/100k driving quietly using the loud pedal 14 to 15 l/100k

all figures are as reported via the Sahara dash have checked it against liters filled by k,s done and its within .2 of a liter /100k

I also tow a 3+ tonne van and average (by fills) 19l/100ks. Much depends on head/cross winds, terrain etc, and of course the right foot :D.

I have a 2008 GXL and tow a 3.3 ton trailer loaded with a roller brake tester and mobile play detector. I have a Scangauge II and average about 21 l/hundred with he trailer on. About 9.5 - 10 on the highway with nothing on the back and 20-21 with a 2.5 ton van. I ave a 50 mm lift and roof bars which probably account for at least .5
