Hey guys,

ive got a decent sized problem as i have no brake lights , Im not driving the car as it's dangerous to other road users not being able to see when im on the brakes.

So far i have:

Replaced the fuse 4 times - each time it's blown after a second of the brake lights lighting up.

Replaced the brake switch on the pedal: still blowing the fuse.

Checked wiring to switch - all looks and tests ok.

Inspected tail lights and globes - all appears to be fine with neither of the filaments blown etc.

Can anyone give me any more avenues to look at? it's really odd and have had guys tell me to unplug the loom and reseat it etc but im unsure if this is the right way to go about something like this.

Any help would be so appreciated.

Mick

Check if bare wires are touching each other? short-circuit? check wattage on globes? or connection between the brake light cables is used for other purposes may lead to over usage?

thanks Tru it ended up being a really minute nick in the insulation on one of the wires and it was earthing on the main dash support bar. All fixed now! thanks for your help!
