Just interested to know if any one has put a set of extracters on their current model Hilux /Prado (4.0 litre V6 petrol), and if they have,is there much of a power/torque increase or is it really too much money for the small gain.Interested in all responses both good and bad,as I tow a caravan I want to know if it is a worthwhile mod,

Cheers

Headers on the 4.0L V6 won't be worth it. Friend has a Prado and he didn't get much out of it even with CAI. He did however mention the best power/money was getting a supercharger kit.

IMO i just drag anything with my stock Landcruiser petrol 80 series which is more an enough for me.

If you have a diesel version when you won't even have to worry at all then.

Thanks for your reply A Buff Hamster,I just needed to hear from someone who has them fitted to actually know wether or not they made an improvement for the money outlaid. As one bloke said to me as its only turning over around 2000rpm at 110kph and with the original exhaust manifold in place you only have 3 ports exiting out through that manifold and as such being a relative slow revving motor at any given speed you just dont have the high volume of air exiting out through that manifold to warrant the use of an extractor.

Any more feed back would be more than welcome, anyway thanks again A Buff Hamster

What you want to really do is the RICE RACING AIR BOX MOD!

^ See last posts in this thread on my FJC!

Huge gains in performance and power ! All documented and proven RR style :) no doctored BS dyno graphs or fictional claims.

Happy to save you thousands of dollars on wasted K&N or CAI intakes LOL, let alone waste of money headers and Y pipes!!! The mod costs nothing but a few hours of your time :toast:
