Seat Sensor Bypass

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm getting some aftermarket front seats soon and need to bypass the seat sensors.

Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket adapters that can do this, or if there are any simple methods of bypassing the sensors so the airbag/srs light won't come on?

Cheers.

- Jesse :)

hey Jesse, how are ya!

these are for the airbags : http://farm4.static...._4de844375a.jpg

for the pressure sensors i have no idea...

edit: actually the drivers seat doesn't need the pressure canceller as the sensor is connected to the seat belt, the passenger will need one on the other hand.

check with toyota, they should be able to tell u

Anyway, when tracking the car, I suggest you remove every seat. They are all fairly easy to remove, the front weights 18-20kg, the rear weights 25-30kg, the end result is non-resistible

Thanks for the help guys, but my car isn't equipped with side airbags.

I asked one of the techs at work about it, and he suggested i try to measure the resistance through the sensor, then make a bypass with a suitable resistor.

I'll keep you all updated on how it turns out. :)
