disable rear interior lights in 08 tarago

Our kids keep playing with the lights above the bask seats and unless we notice that the lights stay on after locking the car at night the battery goes flat overnight. I'd like to be able to disable them somehow, preferably only when the doors are locked. I had a quick look but couldn't even figure out how to remove the light cover to remove or change the bulb. Any advice would be appreciated
