Hi all, very new here but hope someone can help

My friend has an old Liteace and seems the engine is gone - his mechanic told him needs a reconditioned engine and that it is a "7C" engine. Apparently they were only around for about 1 year

I have tried to help by calling several local and interstate spare places but no luck. Some had never heard of a "7C" engine.

Can anyone suggest the best place to look or if any other engine would just bolt in without modifications??

Sounds like he might mean a 7K (the C series is a diesel, and there never was a 7C, just 1C, 2C, 3C). They were around longer than just one year though...what year is the Liteace? Petrol or diesel?

Hi Hero, and thanks for getting back.

Have got some more detail - it is a 1997, manual, petrol with carby.

And you are correct it is a 7K.

Appreciate any info you might have, or suggestions.

Is it a LiteAce or a Townace? Didn't think the Liteaces were sold past about 1992 or so...as for the KR42 Townace, the 7K-C (the carby version) only came out in 1997, which would be the "one-year" thing the mechanic was talking about, however the EFI versions were sold for 5 more years after that, so depending on what is broken and what you can re-use you might be able to get a short-block from an EFI one and use that.

Might be worth checking around commercial vehicle wreckers, fairly sure the 7K came out in forklifts as well so that might help too.
