Has anyone on TOCAU tried doing this? The dash lights in my celica are dim even on max brightness and want to get them changed. I saw a tutorial a while ago on another celica forum but I can't recall it. Thanks for your help

1) Remove the screws that hold the dash surround plastic in

2) move the plastic out of the way (you wont be able to remove it, the HVAC control cables prevent this)

3) remove screws that hold the instrument cluster in

4) pull cluster foward and disconnect the wires at the back.

5) remove cluster through top of steering wheel, it helps to have the wheel all the way foward and down.

6) replace bulbs with new ones (or LED's)

7) refit is the opposite of removal.

Thanks for that. I don't need to solder anything?

nope, just buy some replacement LED globes. have a look on ebay for them

If you want to change the LEDS in your fan and cooling cluster i know how to do that let me know if you want vague details of how i did it lol. It does require soldering and is a little bit of a pain but looks cool. I also have the same issue with my lights but do not have a dimmer so can not make the best of the LED swap.

no soldering required if you purchase the T10 (or whatever size) globes that just push in

Hey I know this is an old post but I've got a 91 st184 and got some replacement globes, I managed to fit the w158 replacements (t10 or something) but there are 2 smaller globes that don't fit those, anyone know what size code will fit so I don't have to take the entire dash apart to order the replacements? Thanks
