When i brought my 2003 Rav 4 it came with a Toyota sat nav. with the car got given 2 different instruction manual also a reference guide!

The reference guide says its a DVD satellite Navigation System and shows a picture of the unit same as whats in my car with the same unit number, i have tried putting a dvd in the unit and doesnt recognize the dvd. Is there another version of the unit or firmware so i can play dvds?

The DVD slot is only for the GPS maps, it will not play any DVDs or CDs.

So is that the reason its call a dvd sat nav system cause it only plays gps dvd disks? lol

If your talking about this one which has the 18002 on the face

then its also known as a

Toyota 08600-00969

Fujitsu Ten 135002-1610A151

I have mine maxed out with everything it can do, ipod instead of the 6 CD Stacker or Changer and have also installed a reversing camera with toggle switch so I can even flick to the rear camera on the caravan when towwing.

AS I'm only new to this as soon as I work out how to upload a few pictures I'll post them as well.

Hi Robert (Yeknod).

I just joined the Club to find out from you about pinouts of Toyota 08600-00969 headunit and how did you manage to make it work with iPod and reversing camera. With the second-hand headunit I also bought DVD navigation ECU: Toyota 86841-24020 by Denso but it does not work. Harness between the headunit and Nav ECU has 2 loose wires (white and brown) only connected to the Nav ECU and I do not know where to connect them to the car system.

Pinouts of the Nav ECU would be most helpful if anybody has them. My e-mail is info@startrade.org

I am in Sydney and drive 2001 L/C 100 4.2 diesel. Steven
