Hey all,

I have a dual cab toyota hilux 2.8 litre diesel atm and really really wanting some sort of performance upgarde!!

I have read about turbocharging and then also heard about the problems they can cause. The car has all original parts and only 50 000 km's on it.

Open to a new engine replacement as well, maybe like d4d if possible.

Thanks

Hi aj

Mate depending on the how much extra performance gain your after, the cheapest way I know to get a bit extra power is a free flowing exhaust, when I had my old 3.0 litre natually asprited hilux I put a 2.5inch free flowing exhaust, which gave it nice note and made the engine pickup better and rev out better also slightly better economy.

Turbo your engine, your engine only having 50000kms on it, you should be ok to turbo as long as the boost isnt set to high, the engine wii run a bit hotter though ,so if your working it harder you may have to install a bigger radiator.

Your next option if if the other two dont give enough performance, probadly the next option is a engine swap, the probadly the most common is a v6 commodore engine.

The d4d engine probadly be to exspensive for a engine swap.

These only my opinnion mate , but hopefully someone else on this forum knows more than me
