I had a small knock with another car on my front left wheel. Power steering stopped but could still turn the wheel with force. Pedders tell me after using a special diagnostic machine that some electronics have been damaged and they have to replace the entire unit with a part-only cost of $1299. No bent steering arm or wishbone damage. Have to wait 3 weeks for this part to come from Japan. Seems strange that a 4WD SUV suspension is so fragile! No damage to the wheel either. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Get a second opinion

Might cost a bit but better than paying 1200 and finding out that the issue is still there
