Easy?? Yes, Worth it?? Not really. if there were a proper guage which showed % gain in power from Lift then maybe yes but I mean you could use a multitude of guages and they will all do "something" when lift is engaged but the question is how useful are they really? Even a voltage guage would jump because the alternator is spinning faster and being pushed by more grunt which would result in a slight increase.

yeh that wouldnt be bad if we could measure lift but i dont think there is a gauge that does so. WOuld love a guage like boost when lift kixs in

I am sure you could use a boost guage but you would have to modify it to run off the engin pressure rather than the pressure from the turbo and you would have to downgrade it so at standard pressure it sits on 0 and when lift kicks in it measure pressure increase. If this were done I would imagine the guage to read to about 6lbs when lift kicks in.

Next time you take it for a service, just ask the mechanics there, im sure one of them would be able to point you in the right direction :).

easy to install???

is it really worth it

only really doing it to have a guage in the car :P  :D

i am selling tachos and gauges. i have boost, vacuum and oil temp. boost comes in black carbon finish face. 7 neon colours at night. professional installation too.

do you also want a bov without turbo? bov sounds cool right? you can set it off by pressing a button.

people are telling me different things

basically i want a gauge that can measure lift when it kixs in around after 6000rpm

can it be done if so let me know ne one

Posted

It can be done but lift is not something you measure, its a mechanical alteration of the motor's running style. You need to find out the best thing to measure to reflect that you are in lift. Personally I would still say the vacuum guage.

are vacuum gauges cheap

what exactly are they measuring

i wanna get something like xoom has got in his car

ne thoughts

Well they measure manfold vacuum, basically what you are going to see is a guage that goes up and down depending how hard you are accelerating then when you hit lift it will bounce right up to max. not sure how hard to install it it is.

Posted

Well that is indeed a vacuum guage but i dunno how to hook it up. Best option would be to go to somewhere like autobarn and tell them what you are trying to achieve, they may have an even better solution than a vacuum guage.

just purchased an autometer boost gauge with vac and it does a good job of measuring lift

good puchase

they are on sale at autobarn at the moment

trd141 now you need to install it. does your item light up? if not you might want to replace it for an item that does or else it will be hard to read at night.

are you putting it in a pod holder or a seat bracket? there are rules to where you can install gauges. please see vicroads for more information.
