Hi there to all,

My baby, a 93 hilux 4x4 ln106 has a weird problem with its headlights all of a sudden,

when i select low beam on my head lights i have a dead cut and the lights go out. i can get hi beam and intermittent hi beam but when i go for the low beam it dead cuts, this seamed simple enough as i have a mate who is an auto elec and he said it was switch on the selection lever.

So i rmoved the switch cleaned it and put if back together and the same problem still exists. furthermore, i swapped the entire column assembly (a mate had a spare for his 94 ln106) and when using the swapped assy i can get low beam, intermittent hi but not hi beam.

I've owned the ute for about 1 yr now and love it to death so i've been racking my brain to find the solution, but i'm no electrician at all. any and all suggestions and help would be appreciated.

Cheers Mike

Assuming your mates switches working fine, did your other mate check the wiring for the headlamp globes? maybe a short there?

Another possibility, bad globes? new globes?
