Hi

I was talking to my mechanic about my next service and he was telling me that he is planning on inspecting the transmission oil!! I mentioned that its a closed system but he said thats true but there is a bolt or something to the side that you undue to top it up and that there is a sump plug that you use to drain the excess oil.

I have read a few places here on this forum that you shouldnt touch the transition oil so I am not sure if I should let the mechanic (who seems to know what he is talking about) touch it or ask him not to do anything.

My Car is ex-rental having the major 90k service done soon.

Let me know what you think and thanks for the advice :)

Well, the oil doesnt last forever, how would you know when you need to change it if you don't check it?

Being an ex-rental, I'd seriously look into changing it soon anyways
