Defyant Style custom DRL's & blinkers

Thought i'd have a shot at some DIY and make my own.

I want something that can fit in my lights and maybe look a bit factory.

Anyways here a pretty ruff first go at a set of matching DRL and blinkers.

Ive been making these cool little 10mm thick strips, but to just stick em into your lights would look a bit off.

So decided to make some custom enclosures.

The strips are 300x10 and run 24 LED's, the good thing about the DIY path is i can choose really good qual Cree LED's and under power them abit, the PCB is of very good qual too far better then any of the aftermarket sickon types.

the enclosures will be solid clear plex, the beauty of this is with a bit of heat i can bend the strip to any shape i want!

Using a 10mm deep x 10mm wide router bit i can cut a channel into the solid 13 x 13 plex bar.

A qick wet rub with some 800 to clean it all up a bit and the strip pretty much drops in nps.

Few drops of glue or even a 10mm plat back can be stuck on to seal it all up.

With the matching blinker, will bend shape this tomorrow and post up pics.

new plex housing bent the way i want it,

a qik test on the light housing,

but you can see the back end of the new shape looks uncomplete.

A new rear housing is fabricated from black plastic moulded glued and then bondo'd in.

Still a bit ruff but still very early days.

This would be the first time ive attempted to mod the internal shapes as such,

Trying to find a design shape that i feel blends in with the shape of the light is harder then i thought.

Ive had a sleep on the boxing and not real keen on it tbh.

Might play around with a few more shapes to see if i can find somthing that works better :D
