Hi guys,

I have this a little problem with my car. The front passenger side window would not roll up using passenger side control /it does roll down/. But it does from drivers side centre control. What could be the problem. What should I check?

No it does not. That is the problem I am having. It only rolls down. But with driver side switch, it rolls up and down. Small but annoying problem.

It's easy to fix.

You need two ppl to fix this problem pull up the window switch for the passenger on the drivers side and have the other person pull the window swith up on the passenger side an lift both swithes at the same time for 10 seconds.

If you do it right it will work.

I'm guessing this problem occurred when taking out the car battery?

Of not. Ten like chris said. Could be a loose wire or something

Thanks for the reply R3Bs,

I tried 2 switch 10 sec method. It seemed to work. I can now shut the window using passenger side switch. But I will have to see if the problem occurs again in the future. Battery has not been taken out for any reasons. it just suddenly started to play like that. So what makes it act like that? Some sort of memory malfunction?

Thanks again.

You're welcome man.

Most toyota cars have the auto lock on power windows not too sure why but this is te method to unlock it. It usually happens when the main battery source is taken out. But as you said sometimes it has nothing to do with the battery and suddenly happens.

If you took it to toyota try would I charged you over $100 for 'hours' of labour when really it's a 10 second job

Big thanks again,

For sure they would try to rip me off at any chance they have, If I took it there. I am glad that I have joined this forum and got help from good members like you. I am a student myself so don't have a lot money to burn on car related things except paying for the fuel.

Cheers
