COROLLA 05 NEW HEAD UNIT

Hello there,

I have a 467N Corolla Sedan 2005.

Sedan and HB models are %100 same in dashboard basis

Currently I am using my factory head unit + line conver to a 5 band parametric EQ and from this EQ I can get 3 preouts for my 2 amps. But ofcourse I am not satisfied with the sound quality and need definately a good Head Unit.

I know that its very easy to remove the factory head unit , get a frame from the shop and install a 1 DIN size HEad Unit i.e. Alpine / Pioneer etc.

Due to not safe enviroment, I have to install the new HU to a place so that it should not be seen from outside whilst the factory HU stays in its place. whilst it should be easily reached to change CDs etc.

over the ash tray there is a very small compartment ( under AC) and has a lid to close this compartment.

normally there is not enough space there to install 1 DIN size HU,

I am thinking to cut this compartment from the very beginning ( keeping the lid to able to close it) and install a HU ( Pioneer 8600MP or Alpine 9855 ) there.

All my measures says that a swing face unit will not fit there.

Is there any one who made such kind of installatiıon to fit the HEAD unit to that compartment ?

Many thanks in advance

My current Audio set up is as follows;

HU :Factory HU

EQ: Clarion 516 EQS ( 5 band parametric) using to get 3 preouts to Amps

Amp2: Ground Zero GZHA 2350x ( 1 x700 RMS @ 4 Ohm / 1 x 950 RMS @ 2 Ohm)

Front components: Kicker KS 65.2 ( 2 x75 RMS)

Back components: Not yet installed

Sub: RF P312D2 ( 2+2 ) 4 Ohm at closed box 28 liters.
