I have just got a 78 series landcruiser.

I am not able to put the gear stick into L4 or N.

I have no problem putting the car into H4 from H2 and back.

I have tried depressing the clutch and lifting will pulling down but it wont move into L4 or N.

I have read the owners manual and followed all the instructions.

I dont know what i am doing wrong.

Any help would be appreciated

the transfer case is the 78's are notoriously sticky. just needs a bit of force to get it in to low-range the first time. Also make sure you are completely stopped, clutch is in and you are in neutral and it should go in a treat
