Hi all new to this site,so hope im posting in the right direction, I have a sweet little corrolla accent 2006 model and have problems with my central door locking on rear doors, I have been told I need rear actuators, to fix the problem, but can anyone tell me how much these may cost, original toyota parts pref. and it is a job for the average mechanic, or an auto electrician.. Any advice on this would be appreciated, thanks kk.

Kind of odd that both of them have gone at the same time, are they doing anything? Only locking/ Unlocking, making any noise when locking, can you manually lock and unlock them?

Thanks for replying and trying to help, Both arent working, originally the front passenger door had the same problem also however that starting working again. I can lock and unlock manually just not with the central lock remote. If this is the problem I was quoted $200 for each part however want to know if this would be a good price or a rip off?, and I would love to know why this problem has occured?

The actuator for the rear doors are around $200 each just for the part so at that price they might not be new they are using. I did look that part up under 2006 Corolla, the part might vary for different grades ( But unlikely)

A fault code might come up with a diagnostic machine or at least might be able to check the actuators, it would be a pity to change them only to find it isn't that part. Who told you that was the issue, did they check anything?

Hi I was quoted this by Toyota workshop so would assume they have checked it correctly , my main thought was the cost , thinking I may have been able to purchase them at a much cheaper price elsewhere and easy to replace, also how would have both been damaged , why the front one stopped working and now works fine. Always happy to pay for original parts for my baby just like to find the c.heapest option. Thanks again.

If you want to go the wreckers way try these guys -- http://www.paradiseauto.com.au/

I think that they are one of the biggest wreckers down here, they have a massive shed. But they do sometimes like to charge like it's a now part so not always worth it.

Thanks guys will do some homework and number dialing first before making further decisions. :)

Shouldn't be so hard to srouce at any wrecker, quite a common car, and easily accessible for the cost.
