Hey Guys,

I need some expert advice.

About 2 months ago, I had brand new brakes put on my car.

Now, when you drive at 20kms and take your foot of the accelarator, it makes a squeal/clunking sound, and when you brake it has a high pitch squeal.

I've had my mechanic look at it, but he couldn't find any problems???

Before I spend any money on new pads or a rotor, can anyone help???

HI Rachael

here is a quick checklist

1. bad wheel bearings

2. cheap brake pads or bad rotor

check the ball joins as well

Could be your disc are warped, had a similar problem in my 6th gen back then , got it machined back and all was fine, or you could try using nulon brake cleaner to start off

If you didnt have the problem before the brakes were changed.. Im guessing they werent changed properly.. get a second opinion from another mechanic is my advice.. they should easily be able to locate the problem.
