Hi all, apart from my introduction post, this is my first real "help me" post!
bear with me, if I don't use the right terms for things, I'm learning! I dont usually do cars, but Im determined to save a few bucks a not rely on others for help, but dont worry, im pretty handy :)

Ok, so I dont know the history of my lux, I've only had her a few days....
But I have no reverse lights, and only one of my tail lights isn't working, but both brake lights are.
I have changed all the globes, checked the fuses, except for the big ones under the bonnet, not sure how you tell if they are blown. I have a new reversing switch coming tomorrow, im hoping that fixes the reverse lights. but what do you think is up with my one tail light? what do I need to check?
Oh and my hand break light is stuck on, fluid levels seem ok.

Ok, tail light is sorted, even though it was a new globe, it was a dodgy one, another globe fixed it.

Now for the reverse lights, turn the key and they coming even out of reverse.... Took the new switch off, plugged it in (not connected to the gearbox) and they still come on!

Could this be a faulty switch or a wiring issue? Also it has been suggested it could be an earth wire issue, what do you all think?

....talking to myself? Lol

Hi nocole. I just joined yesterday and saw this. It seems bizarre no one has replied. Looks like you're pretty handy there and sorted yourself out. You go girl :)

If your Hilux has a tow bar, check the connectors for the tow plug. Generally when tow bars are fitted whether it be aftermarket or sometimes genuine, rather than soldering the wire for the tow plug, people use scotch locks which eventually corrode and cause all sorts of light issues. If it doesn't have a tow bar, check you have fitted the correct double filament or single filament globes in their respective holders. Also check the holders for corrosion. Good luck
