Leaking Steering Rack / Box

My Camry has a leaking steering rack / box, which is quite expensive to fix. What happens if i don't fix it? Will it just continue to leak, or will it result in even more expensive issues down the track?

cheers

You will lose power steering.

It will continue to leak until it runs out of fluid. It will become unroadworthy(it probably already is) and could possibly cause premature wear and at worst a catastrophic failure/accident.

Long story short, get it fixed.

Thanks. The fluid is replenished at each service and I have been quoted between $1,200 and $1,900 to replace the rack / box. My dilemma is that the car has done over 200K km's and it has a few minor issues. So, I'm I am wondering can I just keep getting the fluids replaced until the car finally collapses, or do i need to do something soonish.

cheers
