After having previously owned Turbo Diesels, I decided to try out a V8 Cruiser.

I just find that they leave a lot to be desired in tackling any type of hill or slope highway driving.

I have 305x16 BFG All Terrains which I must admit ,won't help the situation ,but I have ran the same tyres on the last 3 cruisers I've had.

I personaly think that the engine in the Cruiser is more suited to a car, eg high revving, and something with a "Few More Cubic inches " would help get over the problem.

Apart from that I love it.

What do you guys think!!!

P S.Why I didn't go for another diesel was because I turn them over every 3 years, and the extra $12000 I just couldnt justify.

i would have to agree with the lack of torque, after the peak power they dont seem to go no where after that. i also find that they consume way to much fuel. whats your average fuel consumption on that one???

i dont also understand why the $12000 price difference between diesel and petrol, toyota has to be the only company that charge that much for there diesels. but overall the v8 cruiser is a pleasure to drive and handles very well on road.

A multi valve V8 is never going to produce massive amounts of torque like a single inlet/exhaust valve configuration. It's designed to be smooth revving and easy to drive without the "neck snapping" torque that can be produced by a V8.

Unfortunately most Cruiser owners aren't buying the V8 for the sheer power. :(

Yes i beleive there is a lack of torque as well... parcticular when climbing hills at constant speed, you feel the car loosing speed even after it kicks down 2 gears. (being full with passengers)
