At what level of kilometres should the timing belt be replaced on a Camry hybrid? I have now done 280k. One owner said 400k should be ok. I'm sceptic.

I would apreciate your thoughts.

As Trent said I'm fairly sure both the 2AZFXE and 2ARFXE hybrid engines run timing chains (the non-hybrid versions of both engines definitely run chains) instead of timing belts. Timing chains, whilst replaceable, are usually designed to last the life of the vehicle and do not form part of a normal service schedule like timing belts do.

Trent and Hiro, I thank you both for your answer to my question. Now that I finally have the nbn connected I can research all of my misunderstandings much more effectively.

Many thanks .
