2014 RAV4 GX installation of AUX/USB port that is missing

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2014 RAV4 GX AWD Petrol. Upon searching, I was unable to locate the USB/AUX port on the dash below the stereo as I wanted to plug in an older ipod (which doesnt have bluetooth). The RAV4 comes with two 12V charging ports but no AUX into stereo (which I find odd as my previous generation RAV4 Cruiser had the AUX port in the centre console). I spoke to City Toyota and they advised that the majority of 2014 GX models did not come with a USB/AUX port when they changed the stereo over from the original 2013 one that didnt have the reverse camera.They quoted the part as ~$180 plus labour charges on top. I was gobsmacked and figured that I would install one myself. I've popped out the blank face plate of where the USB/AUX button would be but I'd envisage the entire dash and stereo would need to come out. Has anyone installed this USB/AUX port and can help guide me through the installation. I've installed stereos before on older cars which appear to be easier to get to than this RAV4.

The stereo model is 100331 (this is written on the dash below it and I assume this is correct?)

      Canning Prado or 200

      Hi All Just joined - trying to decide between a Prado or 200 for the CSR next year. l'll be a single in the car in a group of 5 vehicles. Not owing. I appreciate whatever I get will need some mods. And I know I am on the Prado Club forum but I am hoping for some unbiased opinion! The Prado needs to carry less fuel which is a big advantage but what I am more concerned about is whether it is rugged enough. Any thoughts and especially experience, much appreciated!       Auto To Manual Swap Reverse Light Switch Wiring

      Hello, I am trying to figure out the reverse light switch wiring connections to complete the tranny swap in my Toyota Corolla 7AFE, just need some help to figure which two wires from the plug in the transmission that has to be connected with the reverse switch in-order for the Reverse bulbs to light up when I put the car in reverse, the wiring color of the bulb is Red with Blue for live and white with black for ground, Thank you!

      2002 Door Handle Issue

      Unusual problem. Driver's side external door handle would not function with window in fully closed position. Would function with window open around 12mm. Removed door trim - visual inspection showed plastic clip at top of one of the actuating rods had become unclipped and was being hit by the metal rail on the bottom of the window glass when the window neared fully closed. Easiest solution was to apply Loctite Extreme Glue to clip and re-attach it to the rod. Fingers crossed it stays attached.

      2ZR Turbo

      How did this project finish up mate , any issues creep up? Im thinking of the same upgrades, but, I have a question around the registration. Here in NSW you cant turbo without it being offered as an original option. Did ypu get an engineer sigh off?

      Hi everyone, new member here. We have two Toyotas, a 2016 Corolla 2ZR-FE and a 2016 Yaris NCP130R. My dad was a huge Holden fan...I've broken that tradition and have become a huge Toyota fan myself!       2015 Prado. Had book maintenance all it's life, no issues. Is there any deeper dive into inspection or maintenance recommended at this age and KM?

      How rare is the 2002 camry v6 manual sportivo

      So I just recently picked up this 2002 camry,which I so far LOVE. However I'm really curious how uncommon exactly is this model? I live in a australia and I've never really seen a manual camry let alone the sportivo v6. Just curious :)

      Camry 2007 Electrical Question

      Hi all, New member here. Got couple of issue with a 2007 Camry Altise. The clock/Speed alert screen doesn't work on the dash. It turn on/off periodically. Sometimes it will never turn on, sometimes it turns on for few hours. Does anyone know what could be the issue? Second issue is the horn is not working, checked the plugs they're all good. The screen wheel buttons work except horn. Pressing the find the car button the remote makes the horn go off. But I couldn't get the alarm go off (locked the car and opened the door from window). Any ideas where else I could look? Thanks in advance.
