1998 SR5 4x4 issues

Hi all, I own a 1998 SR5 hilux with over 310xxx Ks on it. Just the other day I put in into 4x4 option and in a straight line it seemed to drive well but when turning a corner the car jumped all over the place and wouldn't go. Would any one know the problem and how to fix it or will I be having a trip to the mechanic ?

Cheers

Do you have manual locking hubs?  Are they locked?  Older 4WDs with part-time 4WD generally don't like being put in 4WD when on dry sealed roads as there isn't enough slip when going around corners (like driving a car with a locked diff) with the hubs locked, so the axles binds up causing a jumping/skipping.

Check your owners manual in regards to what conditions you can and can't use 4WD in.
