Hello Guys I am new to forum and looking for guidance.

Just wondering what the opinion is on changing my shocks from the stock standard build? I have a 2003 1HD J78R Turbo 4.2. very low Km (under 80k) I have not done much off road as yet but will be going to remote places I assume.

Will the stock shocks be able to cope or do I need to upgrade to say "Dobinson leafs/coils with Bilstein shocks" as an example or other brands. I do not have a lot to spend as this Troopy took most of my budget (Super). Somebody mentioned I should get a GVM upgrade to say 3.8T . Would love to hear any or all opinions on what I should do before I go really bush/remote and what I really cannot do without.

Second hand Items which I have acquired and had fitted or installed myself or which came with the Troopy:

Diff locks
Air comp
2" lift
3'' Exhaust
Long range tank 260lt + water tank 5ol
2 Deep cycle AGM batteries x 1 starter Battery
Inverter 2000kw
Wheel carries X 2
Fitted out inside to live x 2 people so no more room inside.
Fridge 60lt
CB radio
9000lb Warne Winch
All the cooking gear (wife took care of that)
Nav system
Bat wing awning
CTEK full system charger/Monitor fit out.
Roof racks with Roof top tent (if living inside gets cramped (The Wife demanded it)

Well that's most of my super gone, just a few pennies left.

Cheers to all that reply.

Given that you have added considerable amounts of extra weight, it would be worthwhile in the long run to upgrade the suspension.
