D light on dash in the 90 series Prado

The other day I noticed that when I went into drive the light on the dash doesn't light up and more, the rest of the light work except the "D"

just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if you know why it happened. 

Its a 1999 Prado petrol by the way

I did a Google search with the search term: d light not working.

Most posts indicated the bulb needed to be replaced. However, one post referred to replacing the fuse for the dash lights as their solution.
