painted wheels

i went to a certain wheel shop in Sydney, and i found some rims on special that i love to bits... problem is i want white, and they only had silver and shadow chrome...

they told me they could paint the wheels for me... has anyone had experience with wheels painted at the shop? will they be a crap finish? to be honest im not in the market for any lightweight racing wheels or anything expensive with exceptional quality, im just trying to get some nice looking wheels for cheap...

if it helps, they are 10 spoke 17" wheels...

I think they'll send the wheel off to a powder coating factory to get it done. Most tyre/wheel stores don't have the facility to paint/powdercoat wheels.

Having said that, the quality of the job should be pretty good. It'll look like the wheel came out standard in white. I know this because I've had my rims powdercoated white too.

Btw, how much are they charging you to get them painted in white?

well they said 200, but they agreed to knock of $100 for cash... is that a good price?

yer .. all they do for powder coating is heat up the rim and dip it in this white powder stuff and it melts and bonds to the hot rim.

Ive done it before with other metal items

That or they either hand spray each one, that's how they did mine.

Btw, $100 is a sweet price.
