Noisy engine(tappets)at Camry 2007 , 2.4 engine, auto

Hi

I have a Camry 2007 with noise in the top of the engine... The noise lasts for 5-10 min after starting the car and after that the noise stops or is less.

The loud noise started when winter started. Before winter was just a bit.

I changed the oil, 5w30, I added tappets quieter... nothing...

I also checked the camshafts, are all right. Engine is clean under rocker cover, has been serviced regularly . 

Can someone had the same problem and how he fixed it?

Have a read of what you have posted and think about it. Problem already solved.

Noise appears to be caused by not enough lubrication until the engine oil has warmed up. More noticable in colder weather. Change of oil and a lower viscosity has solved your issue.

There have been a number of posts in the Aurion Forum about the oil change interval. Personal preferences vary from 5,000 kms to 10,000 kms depending upon whether a full synthetic oil is being used or not. I also flush the engine when I do an oil change.

Problem solved... pistons slap noise.....cars affected 2006- 2007.......there are a lot of them..... needs a new engine block..... I am gonna buy a second hand engine with low km... is the best price option.....

I had one that was rattling on start up... turned out it had 20-50 oil in it.  Changed it and used full synth 5-30 and no rattle at start up after that.
That was on an 07 camry with about 80k/k on it.   Not sure how many k's yours has done?
