Hi all,

brand new to the forum, however have owned Hilux SR5's since about 2005.

I decided on the new Rugged X in late 2018 and picked her up Dec 30 2018. I managed to get the rogue hard tonneau cover fitted at the dealer.

I absolutely love the car, however the one major disappointment has been the tub liner or rather the lack there of. The tub liner does not cover the sides of the tub just the floor and the tail gate.

the reason given is due to the roll bars fitting directly to the chassis making it impossible to fit the normal Hilux tub liner.

So to my question, does anyone know where you may be able to get an after market tub liner to fit a Rugged X?

Thanks

Hi Scoup. Did you end up finding one?

I am also looking for a tub storage option just after the wheel arch -  it issue again are the bars that fit into the chassis. Like you I love the car but I disappointed with ability to add features to this non standard setup.

cheers.

I don't think there's anything that's impossible. You can buy the tub liner kit to suit the standard model and custom fit it yourself. You will most likely need to remove the roll bar, install the liners and then re install the roll bar. There may be areas which will require careful cutting to allow for clearance of the roll bar perhaps, but certainly not impossible.

Have you checked Ebay ? There are a few on offer for your consideration.

Hi Tony. Yeah I ended up deciding to modify a MaxLiner 5 piece under rail liner. This made it easier to modify.
I’ve uploaded some photos. It was a very intricate process - I made small cuts to ensure I did t take out too much. The corners were this biggest hassle as you had to cut out a bit of the end and side piece which was very hard to judge.
It was imperative to remove the bars - and this was not a pleasant process.
Also had to install the pieces in the opposite way. Ie the base was last to go in - so it was much more fiddler.
min the end I am absolutely overjoyed at the result - I just never want to do it again! Next will be to draw up a custom checker plate storage box.

Fantastic work Mark. You did a great job !. Would've been nice of the liner maker to take the time and make the cutouts to suit the factory roll bars..

Great result and thanks for the pics.

All the best
