Hi guys, new to this forum so hope I am doing it right.

Anyway just bought my Camry MY2016 and very happy with the car except for the basic interior.

I really want Apple Car Play in the car so looking to replace the headunit, is there anyone here that already did

that and is happy with the transformation?

Also I am very anal about how it looks as I don't want to look cheap.. (so a perfect assembly)

Hope somebody can advise me !

Welcome to the forum Hans, depending on if your installing it your self or if you want to have it installed..I would recommend finding the unit you want first then shop around for best price..there are so many head unit's available right now so I am sure you will find one you like..plus the surround to fill the gap of the old unit and if you have any steering wheel controls a harness as well....personally i don't touch anything to do with electronics these days so I got our's fitted by Monster car Audio who did a first rate job..Good Luck let us know the outcome

Thanks for your reply! I know that there are a few different ones on the market, but I hoped to find somebody who already chose one and is happy with the result. I found a nice Pioneer unit but the harness which was needed looked very cheap to me. It's a bit of money to spend so I want it to be good :)!

YW Hans, I am sure some will reply if they have done the head unit change, i agree with your statement about having a cheap harness mounted to an expensive head unit, always worth the extra money for something reliable and robust..hope some answer your request soon, I like Pioneer products as have had several and always found them excellent units..this time around i went with Clarion as i liked its features and have not looked back since having it fitted

Good Luck and let us know how this turns out for you

Hans, I haven't changed the factory unit on my wife's 2013 yet (it's planned, though!), but changed it on my 2008 with a Sony XAV-AX5000 and can't be happier with the result. You're absolutely right to look at established brands, I wouldn't recommend going for a crappy joying, eonon or similar, even if they promise you twelve cores CPU, the latest and greatest Android and support for zillions of apps, as a car headunit they're rubbish. Buy a proper one from Pioneer, Alpine, Clarion, Sony or Kenwood and it'll run trouble free and last much longer.

Go on the Aerpro website, select your car and the desired headunit and it should return the components you need. Then go online and find the best price for the kit. Or go into an auto store, give them the details and see what they can do for you. If you're not tempted to diy you can also go to a specialised store like e.g. Street Sound Vision we have in Melbourne and check their offer which includes installation, shortlist the ones with good reviews and recommended by other clients, word of mouth goes a long way😉
