Hilux ‘88 3Y turns over but won’t start

New hilux owner. Was running fine but decided it won’t start this morning. Roll started and got it going ran fine for a 45min drive. Then won’t start again...

any ideas?

Does the engine crank but not start?

My immediate thought was either battery or starter motor.

Next thought is the alternator good?. If so, it should have definitely fully charged the battery.

Good idea to check the battery terminal connections and also the earth/ground wiring. I do recall a few posts where this has been the solution to their issue.

Thanks mate! It was the automatic choke on the carb that’s not working - have to open the butterfly manually on cold start. Might need a full rebuild on the carb.  Or EFI 😉
