Wiper switch upgrade

I have a 2002 echo ncp10 no intermittent wipers am wanting to upgrade wiper stalk with intermittent wiper any one know what car I can get this from one that is a straight swap

That's a good question. I had a 95 RAV 4 years ago and it too didn't have intermittent wipers for some reason. I was going to do this very thing too but never got around to it. I think there will be some auto electrics involved here as the intermittent section is governed by a timer relay and I don't believe it resides in the stalk itself. If I find out something more, I'll post back.

I think the relay is in the switch wanting to know what car I can get the switch off as am going to get one from car wreckers but needs to have same 8 pin connection

Not too sure. I would believe the variable resistor would be for varying the frequency of the intermittency but the actual relay is more a physical item that I doubt could fit in the stalk. I could be wrong. If the stalk isn't too much, just get one, plug it in and see if it works. Ask the wrecker if they have a return policy, that way if it's no good to you, just return it.

As for which Echo would have it, I'm not sure. The wrecker should be able to assist you there.
