Hi all

I've been trying to find the fuel filter on my  2003 Commuter for a while now. Tried looking up online too but no such luck

Can anyone help?

Petrol or diesel ?

I know that the diesel engined Hiace has the fuel filter inside the engine compartment on the far left. It's a canister type. You will need to purge the air out of the cannister too before attempting to start it, otherwise you'll have an air lock inside it and no fuel will pass. There is a plunger on the top which will allow you to do this. Keep pressing on it until you can't press it anymore. Then you've push all the air out by this stage.

I would assume the petrol version should also be there somewhere too. Not 100% sure. The easiest way is to follow the fuel lines if you're not sure. Find the supply line from the tank and this will lead you to the fuel pump and then straight to the filter. The petrol fuel filter should have a bango type fitting.

This video may help if it's a diesel.

I think if it's petrol the filter is in the tank. There is an access panel in the back floor near the rear end of the sliding door opening.
