What are your thoughts on a more expensive Engine Air Filter giving the engine better performance.

They don't work to be blunt. I almost went down that road without too much thought about it and after having purchased the K&N "reusable" filter, it prompted me to actually do some research about it and the general consensus was that yes, it can provide some HP gain, but the numbers are very, very negligible and not even worth effort or expense. Stick with a high quality OEM filter and your engine will be just fine. The OEM filter can even exceed the performance of the so called "performance air filter", so don't be fooled by the clever marketing and fancy packaging. It's all B.S.

I still have my brand new K&N filter sitting in a box somewhere. I'll keep it as a monument to my stupidity 🤪
